This is tough to decide where this topic goes but I figured here is the best location.

Each race will receive a bonus. 1 stat & 1 skill to make them different from each other. Some races may receive more (like elves/dwarfs/trolls) skills/stats as they are classified as "elder" races. Remember 99.9% of people will be normal humans, it is only for VERY good roleplay and extreme conditions will a elder race be given.

So here are the current thoughts on the 'table':

Danish, Swedish, Norwegian:

Skill: Receive +10 in carpentry this represents the vikings skills with wood and their ship building powers.

Stat: Strength - there are tales of great feats of strength and how the Norseman endured even the greatest hardships. I was thinking a 10 bonus in strength to show their tenacity in beating things to a pulp.

Since this is a shard focusing on Nordic influences each elder race has their roots from the Scandinavian versions

Elves in these tales are elusive and magical thus they should receive:
Hiding/Stealth/Magery bonuses - in dex/int

I would think a bonus 10 in each skill and 10 in stats makes these powerful elder race - also having a natural ability of magery (considered rare for the shard) makes them very potent allies or rightly feared enemies. - Though West should come up with their main fluff it seems these beings are very reclusive and do not like outsiders who would do harm to their homes.

These are not your typical 3 foot dwarf, in fact they are human sized. They are typically pale skin, black haired, and evil. They are magical beings with an the typical display of master craftsmen.

Skills: Blacksmith, Mining, Tinkering

Stats: A bonus of 10 in each and 10 in strength and dex. These beings are highly skilled and may make wonderous items while working for long hours and having high stamina/endurance.

Trolls http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trolls#Nordic_art.2C_music_and_literature

These beings are not evil by nature, but primitive and misunderstood. They live in mountains and sometimes abduct people/cattle/etc. as slaves or food.

Skills: Trolls are brutish creatures, but simplistic. A +10 in wrestling, parry, healing (to represent regeneration).

Stats: Trolls are massive and strong and should get a +30 to strength (players should be forced to have a 10 in int that never goes above this)

Well, you sum it up pretty well here. I have one thought regarding the Elfs though. Perhaps we could change magery against musicianship or archery?

Like this: dex/stealth/musicianship (or archery).

But Magery is a good idea as well... Hmm... Harsh one..
